About Us

The small seed of the Botany Department was sown in 2010 to ensure the teaching of the subject at the undergraduate level. The small seed that was nurtured by the renowned Botanists, has now grown into a gigantic tree with its branches blooming with flowers, disseminating fruits of excellence. Department of Botany is an ideal choice for the students who want to join a Department with a difference and distinction in the college, as the department has proven excellence in producing motivated and well-trained botany students who are capable of meeting the present day challenges. To offer quality education in the subject, the faculty of the Department leaves no stone unturned. The Department provides congenial and feasible environment to the teachers/ students in achieving excellence in teaching/learning.

Department of Botany is located in Science Block and has sufficient infrastructure to ensure quality teaching at UG level. A good number of the pass out students have joined different Indian universities for higher education programmes in the subject. Enrollment of students in the Department shows progressive increasing trend. Therefore, to deal with it efficiently 04 academic arrangement faculty members have been hired in addition to the three permanent faculty members in the department. The Department has well-equipped two laboratories and a Botanical Garden for the experimental work. The laboratories are sophisticated and well equipped to ensure the pleased practical work in Botany.
