Plantation Drive

NSS Unit of the College conducted a one-day Plantation Drive in the College on 18th of March 2021. Around 110 Deodar and Chinar saplings were planted in the Campus. An assessment of the spots in need of plantation was done by Dr. Safeer Ahmad Bhat, NSS Programme Officer and Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad Pall, Assistant Professor (Education) one day prior to the event. Principal of the College, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Simnani kick-started the drive with the planting of a Deodar sapling in front of the Arts Block. Addressing the media personnel, he lauded NSS for organising the drive and called for more plantation drives for the protection of environment. Senior faculty members also participated in the drive. Around 65 NSS Volunteers planted the saplings throughout the Campus. In order to ensure the care of the planted saplings it had been decided that each NSS Volunteer would adopt one sapling. NSS Volunteers remembered their plants and vowed to take their care till they are on the rolls of the Institution. Later on, Dr. Safeer Ahmad Bhat thanked the Principal of the College for his support, Forest Department for providing the saplings, media and the NSS Volunteers for making the drive a success.
