As part of the Plantation Week, National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the College organised a Campus Plantation Drive on 24th March, 2022. Around 90 NSS volunteers participated in the Drive, besides members from the faculty and staff. Around 120 saplings, of varieties including Pinus, Cedrus Deodara, Taxus and Thuja, were planted in the College. Spots which needed plantation had already been identified by the volunteers and pits were dug. The Drive was inaugurated by Showkat Ahmad, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam and Syed Waseem Hussain, Divisional Forest Officer Kulgam in presence of Dr. Nazir Ahmad Simnani, Principal of the College. Guests as well as the faculty members planted trees in the Girls’ Park. Later, saplings were distributed by the guests of honour to the volunteers who planted these in different spots in the Campus. An important feature of the Drive was that planted saplings were named after the volunteers who planted them so that care would be taken of each plant.
