In recent past the institution had organized frequent plantation drives in collaboration with J&K Department of Forest and J&K Department of Sericulture at various occasions. In 2014 Department of forest provided 500 Conifer plants and the same were planted by the Institution but the mortality rate remained very high. In 2017 the same collaborator, on eve of World Arbor Day provided 100 conifer plants while as J&K Department of Sericulture provided 500 Mulberry Plants and the same were planted by the NSS Volunteers and other dwellers of the institution. In 2018, under “Go-Green Kulgam” Initiative of the local administration, the J&K Department of Forest planted 100 saplings of Deodar (Cedrus deodara) in the campus and installed tree guards along the roadside for their protection. All the expenditure was borne by the said department.
